Abstract

In July 2019 Singaraja City recorded an inflation of 1.03 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 145.60. The calendar year inflation rate was 2.33 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2019 against July 2018 or YoY) was 2.73 percent.

Inflation (m to m) is indicated by an increase in the index in four expenditure groups namely group I (foodstuff) by 3.26 percent; group II (prepared food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco) by 0.94 percent; group IV (clothing) by 0.32 percent and group V (health) by 0.13 percent. While the groups that recorded a decrease in index or deflation were group III (housing, water, electricity, and fuel) as deep as -0.31 percent and group VII (transport, communication and financial services) as deep as -0.12 percent. For group VI (education, recreation, and sports) there was no change in index, but there were subgroups that experienced inflation and deflation.
